Where many love stories begin, these two swiped right! Travis and Megan matched on Hinge (their profiles below). The two bonded over discussing which action series Megan should watch on a flight to London (The answer: Mission Impossible) and Travis planned the date! Which leads us to…

February 23, 2024 they met in person at Finney’s Crafthouse in Burbank, California for their first date. Megan recalls Travis high-fived her for mentioning she preferred NCAA football over the NFL in the first five minutes. They talked about all of the things over guava margaritas. Travis remembers thinking he talked too much on the first date - which thrilled Megan as she is the self-described “chatty one”.

After an hour, Megan cut to the chase and said, “Well I think this is going well, I’d be curious if you’d like to do this again sometime?” To which a slightly startled Travis replied “Well yes it is, I was going to ask you later for a second date, but yes! That’s why I got a second drink!” From here on out their relationship has always been “cards on the table” honest.

They quickly bonded over Harry Potter, board games, and their love for each of their families. But it wasn’t long before each of their biggest passions were revealed to each other.

Travis introduced Megan to The Oregon Ducks, and they made it to two games at the Rose Bowl. Jacob and Anthony joined them for both, bringing smoked brisket each time. Megan introduced Travis to Disneyland for the first time, and even convinced him to get an annual pass after the Tucker-Graham family Disneyland trip! Now the two of them compete to see who gets to sit with Sawyer on rides.

The two moved in together and things just got better. The book collection is huge; the game collection, even larger. There is now a second wooden bear in the house (ask the Reders for the story!) They got AMC passes together and have made fun date nights going to movies during the week to see all the new flicks. And when not going out, the two of them binge all their favorite shows: The Four Seasons, Brooklyn 99, How I Met Your Mother, and many others.

Travis and Megan travel often, and nearly every weekend this past summer. Travis joined the Tuckers in Hawaii and in the trailer camping at Huntington Lake, Megan and Carol flew up to cheer Travis on during his marathon in San Francisco, and cheered him on again during his half Ironman in Santa Cruz (with a whole bunch of other family joining as well!) And on the rare occasion when the two aren’t traveling together, they always make the long drive to LAX to pick the other up from the airport.

Naturally the two talked about getting married and their future life together, but Travis was faced with quite the conundrum; how would he surprise Megan? To those who know her, she is incredibly organized and knows everything. So how would Travis pull off popping the question?!

Travis and Megan were in San Luis Obispo with their parents for the weekend and had various plans to explore breweries, the downtown area and new restaurants. Before dinner one night, Travis got more dressed up than usual and Megan followed his lead. When they were meant to go to dinner, instead Travis took Megan on a drive, ultimately to Spooner Cove lookout point, what would be the scenic backdrop for this romantic gesture.

Travis led Megan to the ideal viewpoint, took both her hands, said some kind words and got down on one knee to ask the question. Megan said yes!
